Bank Engagement
The Financial Sector Engagement Panel on the Native Vegetation Protection Agenda is an initiative of the Forest Code Observatory that aims to bring transparency to how financial agents obtain and analyze information on their clients' compliance with the Forest Code and how this information influences decisions regarding the granting of rural credit.
The data presented in this panel were collected through a questionnaire developed and applied between 2024 and 2025 to representatives of four financial institutions - Banco do Brasil, Caixa Econômica Federal, Rabobank and Sicredi - which together were responsible for operating approximately 58% of the total amount of rural credit contracted in Brazil during the same period.
